About Us

Ian is a highly accomplished leader, with 30 years experience within one of the 4 large Banking groups in the financial services industry, ranked within the top ten largest market capitalisations on the JSE. He has a rich and broad range of experience across many industries, including African subsidiaries. Ian holds a Masters degree in Business Administration specialising in Strategy.


Ian's experience includes:

Implementing major strategic change within the SA banking environment from a purely service culture into one of a sales and service environment.
Consulting on a national balanced scorecard project.
Provincial project leader for the take-over and integration of a major building society of 10 outlets, R1,0bn worth of investments and 45,000 accounts.
Strategically and operationally managing catchment area/s comprising 12/16 retail bank branches and outbound centralized sales and relationship management teams.
Coaching and directing teams of Managers and staff in excess of 300, with full accountability for Provincial financial and balance scorecard results.
Providing working capital and equity finance to literally, thousands of businesses, both in South Africa and across our borders.
Strategically managing an external provincial sales force of 70, including Area Sales Managers and outward-bound sales staff of the Western Cape.
Seconded to Zambia to build a business case for the entry strategy into Zambia by the retail bank operation. Negotiating with Central Bank authorities for licensing requirements and concessions. Establish support structures and contacts required for Corporate skills relocation. Creating links between existing Group companies in Zambia and establishing legal and peripheral structures to provide support for the entry of the Bank.
Established strategic management consulting practice in 2007, gathering further consulting experience across Financial Services, Gaming, Retail fashion, Waster Water Treatment, Building Industry and Agriculture. Coaching of various industry middle and senior management leaders.
Active voluntary participant in Umsombomvu Youth mentoring program
